My story

I’ve always felt the pressure to meet high expectations as an oldest daughter and recovering people pleaser. Performing and trying to meet these expectations led to years of stress, anxiety, and chronic pain: my brain and body was not a safe place to be. No matter what I tried, it felt like my body would never behave or feel well again.

I initially swore I’d never see a counsellor. Asking for help somehow felt like I was admitting defeat. But when I hit the breaking point of burnout, I knew something had to change, and I took the step to try counselling for the first time.

My experiences in counselling taught me how to slow down, listen to my body, and find more connective way of being in the world. Through therapy my mind and my body finally became a safe place for me to be. Now, as a therapist, I’m passionate about helping others who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in similar patterns, guiding you towards greater self-compassion and connection.

do any of these sound familiar?

  • "I struggle to say no and often feel overwhelmed, yet it’s hard to relax or let my guard down."

  • "I find it difficult to feel comfortable in my own skin and frequently fixate on parts of my body I wish were different."

  • "Sometimes, I feel emotionally numb or unsure of what I’m feeling, while everything takes more effort than it used to."

  • "I withdraw from people even when I don’t want to, worrying that if I’m truly myself, others will pull away."

  • "No matter how much I do, it feels like nothing changes, and my mind is constantly tired, even after rest."

  • "I often avoid movement because starting feels overwhelming, and I wish I could feel more at peace with my body.”

If any of this resonates with you, it’s important to know these experiences are more common than you might think. Many people struggle with feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from their bodies, or stuck in patterns that feel hard to change. It's a natural response to the pressures and challenges we face in life. These feelings don’t mean there’s something wrong with you — they’re signs that something inside needs care and attention.

If you're ready to begin this journey, I'm here to walk alongside you.

areas of practice and focus

I have a variety of experiences working with parents, youth, and adults. However, here are some of the areas I am passionate about!

  • Feeling overwhelmed, constantly on the go, or like you're running on empty? I help you recognize and address the toll stress and burnout can take on your mind and body, guiding you towards sustainable balance and restoration.

  • Unpacking (or perhaps forced to unpack) your religious upbringing? I have personal and research experience in both of these areas to help you better understand the ways in which your religious upbringing has impacted your relationship with your body, self, others, and the world around you.

  • Struggling with how you feel in your body? Whether it’s through intuitive eating, mindful movement, or fostering self-compassion, I help you cultivate a more peaceful and accepting relationship with your body.

  • Do you often feel not good enough or doubt your worth? Through relational therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion practices, I support you in building a stronger, kinder sense of self.
